About ~

My name's Danni Farr and I'm currently a university student studying fine art, my current dream is that I hope to become an art therapist or perhaps an art teacher in the future but I'm open to the ideas of freelance art and commissions but for now I'm having enjoying myself thoroughly simply learning and having the freedom to explore and create.

Mediums ~

I'm currently trying to expand my practice when it comes to mediums but one of my favourite current mediums is to paint I love everything from gouache and watercolour to acrylic and oil ( although I could definitely improve). Since having the resources at Uni I've fallen in love a bit with lino printing and dry point printing and I'd love to and plan to expand my printing techniques in the future. I also really enjoy using clay to create sculptures but find that it takes me a lot longer to create but I'm hoping to do more in time to come. I've also always love drawing in charcoal and created a lot of pieces with it and hope to continue using it.
My Practice ~

My practice is still something I'm very unsure of and I'm certain will change all the time for a while at least, but currently the themes I work with the closest are ideas around mental and physical health, psychology, fears and trauma, relationships, communication and boundaries and so forth. It's a lot but if I had to make a concise concept I would describe it as the relatable human experience and the mind, I'm fascinated with how complex humans are and how intricate their minds, emotions and experience's seem to be and I will continue to explore themes that branch off from this for a long time I think, because its an everchanging subject that encompasses so much and a lot of which I and basically everybody can relate too. I think one of the things that is important to me is creating relatable work that people can view and understand and feel like they are also being understood, work that creates an atmosphere of warmth or understanding or relatability.
